| on haviong a 450hp NA. Secondly, I went with the Wisecos (ceramic coated skirts) when I did my build this spring. I am very happy with them, NO noise or piston slap of any kind on startup. I went with the stock bearings and ARP hardware for the main and rod bolts. I re-used the stock rods. My machinist said they are MORE than adequate. He went through and bored/honed both ends of each rod to get everything perfectly in spec, and milled the rod-bolt nut seat surface to make sure there were no steps. If anything, get a set of forged pistons and ARP hardware. Your motor should be bulletproof at ~450 hp assuming whoever does the machine work does it right.
